Oblivion mods not downloading

Just browse the web site. I use Wrye Bash to install my mods it has a special folder where you can drop in the zip files. That way, if a mod doesn't work out you can uninstall the whole thing with one click instead of hunting down the individual files in your game data , and Nexus Mod Manager to adjust the load order because it is way simpler to do it there instead of with Wrye Bash. Wrye bash also gives you a "bashed patch" file that lets you merge different leveled lists from different mods.

Better Oblivion Sorting Software BOSS can help you with load order issues for popular mods, but it will often not have data for newer mods or not as popular mods so you will still have to figure out the best load order for them by trial and error BOSS will tell you what mods it has no data for when you run the program. I can go on and on about using mods with Oblivion, so I hope I am not confusing you. I have been playing since before the game was on Steam. I still have the origional game disks, but I bought the game from Steam because it was an easy way to get all of the DLCs.

If none of my post is helpful or you have more questions just post here and I will try to help you. Originally posted by BarbarianHeart :. Quick update: I've just discovered that my expansion packs are still active even though I disabled them in Data Files, which means not only are my mods not activating, but the game is simply using the default data files settings no matter what I tell it to do :- I'm not sure if that makes diagnosing the problem any easier, but I'm getting pretty annoyed because I feel like the game is failing at something basic.

So, it is very puzzling to me why you can't get your mods to work. How did you disable the DLCs in the data files? Are you talking about the data menu you get when you first start the game? There is someone calling themselves ferretlaw who seems to be having the same problems that you are. I am trying to wade through the post; there were others posting and trying to help this person but it is getting kind of late in the evening for me here. Hope I can stay awake lol. Ok, ferretlaw didn't have the mods installed correctly it seems.

Set upon medieval temperate forest with diverse locations, in the themes of vegetation and the architechture, and thanks to the colorful visuals, the game can be quite beauty to look at stands even for this time with the vibrant colors it has.

Unfortunately, playing it for few hours will show the worst aspects of the game; leveling that requires min-maxing in order to be efficient at higher levels, fights that lasts over minutes due to a high healthpool and extremely forced level scaling, making sure that nothing high or nothing lower ever spawns, only revolving around the player. Also, the game introduced character face generation, which is great in concept to give every NPC an unique look, but it is unfortunate that the modeling of the faces came a bit off, leading to creations of monstrosities rather than ordinary looking people.

As a final nail into the coffin, the game is as buggy and prone to crash like other games Bethesda has made. Having played Oblivion for hours, first with PS3, then with Steam version, I decided to do this mod guide as means to list my own personal mod loadout I play with usually, and also provide a configurable user experience.

These mods breathe new life into the game, while not straying off from the base game's look and gameplay. Notice: This is not a guide to make your game as beautiful as possible or make the game as hard as possible. This is to give out vanilla focus upon the game and not resort into flashiness the other modding guides are prone to do.

With all these said, let's get upon to prepare our game to be modded. Ran it at least once to generate. Start the game, create character and quit. I would recommend having all the fade sliders at maximum and autosaves off, as autosaves are unreliable. Backed up the game archive. I made sure community is enabled. I deleted the Oblivion. OOO is the only mod that appears to be working. It's also the only mod that appears in the data checklist when you start Oblivion. No other mods have any effect.

The game isn't crashing, it just won't add the mods. Last edited by Pyx ; 10 Aug, am. If a mod is not showing in the data files from launcher then it is NOT installed. The mods have to be put in the folder OBMM uses for mods sry cant remember what its called but you can drag n drop from windows explorer into the OBMM window.

Also, the mods MUST be in. Some will already be done but most have to be converted. I know OBMM user instructions are vague to non-existent, but otherwise have you read the readme's for the mods thoroughly? WB is not as difficult to use as many ppl believe. The latest versions have a Standalone version so knowledge of Python is not required.

Seriously, try it. Needs a few secs to 'kick in' first time using it. Wouldnt be surprised if OBSE is not working for you. Search forums here or google for solution. I've posted the solution that worked for me several times in Steam forums. I'll follow your advice regarding Wrye Bash but at this point I'm wondering if I should start over and do a complete reinstall of Oblivion. OBSE is running but still nothing works - doesn't even cause crashes.

I made an omod from A Takes All just one esp file in archive. Still not added to the loading data check boxes and wouldn't work in the game. Then I copied the esp directly from the archive and installed manually. The mod worked!

Doesn't that mean that OBSE has been running all along? I didn't change anything other than installing the. I'll suck it up and learn to use Wrye Bash. Frustrating though when programs that don't say to use Wrye Bash aren't working. However, the only omod install that works is OOO. The other A Takes All was manually installed.

Following that it should work but doesn't. Tried creating omod directly to no avail - several times. Tamriel's previous emperor has been slain, and with no true ruler the gates to Oblivion open and demons begin to invade the people and towns of the empire.

It's up to you to find the lost heir to the throne and unravel the sinister plot that threatens to destroy all of Tamriel. File Name: Wrye Bash The mod makes changes to just about everything in the game except races. Over the last six years an army of modders have been hard at work, trying to make Oblivion into the game they always imagined it should be. There's now a vast array of mods that can take the game in many different directions.

Oscuro's and Francesco's overhauls reinvent the game's challenges and leveling. Midas' Magic Spells of Aurum give you godlike power and the ability to nuke your foes. There are thousands, so we've chosen best-made and most polished examples of one of the most prolific and dedicated modding communities out there.

This should be your first port of call. It fixes over 1, bugs still present in Oblivion even after Bethesda finished patching it. So that's 1, floating rocks, see-through walls and twitchy animations you'll never have to deal with. There are a couple of separate patches for the expansion and DLC, too, so be sure to pick these up if you're planning on visiting the Shivering Isles.
